Gluten free goodness has never tasted so good!
Oaked aged, coffee fermented, chai tea infused, let’s face it nowadays craft beers are catering to every palate and preference. I personally enjoy a nice Imperial big body brew with a hint of figs or currant, because I am a man and that’s what men drink. The new brew on the block is not made so much for mere taste but for people with Celiacs disease. Celiacs is a condition, where in short, people cannot process gluten and must eat a very specialized diet. Most GF brews are made from sorghum rice, buckwheat and honey.A few brands are Red Bridge by AB and New Grist by Lakefront Brewery, but the only GF brew worth speaking of is Bard’s Gluten Free. Finally a Gluten Free Beer that actually has malty sweetness, balance and a nice even body! It’s a brew that can be enjoyed by everyone and not just people with Celiacs.

The brewers at Bard’s definitely take pride in their brewing and have figured out how to get away from tasteless, grain water sorghum beer. By malting the sorghum like traditional grains it helps give the beer that nice sweet taste and helps make the brew a well rounded traditional craft brew! So today’s “Above and Beyond Brew” award goes to Bard’s for going out of the way and taking the time to make a brew that everyone can drink and enjoy! Cheers Bard’s, Cheers!
