Wild Cicerone Weekend Hot Spots

This weekend why not explore the unusual and treat yourself to a few spots where the drink specials aren’t void of personality and indulge in a true libation destination.

1)Manderine Hide “The Social Sanctuary” 231 Central Ave. Saint Petersburg, FL 33701

located in eclectic downtown Saint Pete offers a selection of gin that would make James Bond blush. Not only are the “Mixologists” pouring, the freshest most original libations but the ambiance is a step back in time with brick walls, crown molding and even a turn of the century bathtub. The place offers an escape from the crowded “boushy” spots and invites a smart crowd of sociable and interesting people.

PROS: Great liquor selections, has a few craft taps if in the mood and highly knowledgeable staff

Cons: Size, just can get a tad crowded and for the narrow long bar can offer a challenge at times.

2)Pour House Grand Central - 1208 East Kennedy Boulevard #112

Tampa, FL 33602

If your looking for a fun, friendly atmosphere, to go out with friends, then the Pour House is your spot. They boast 40 taps of some of the best craft beers from around the nation and a cooler filled with 65 delicious offerings. At the pour house not only can you hold a converation without having to yell over blaring music, you can also bring you K-9 Companion out for a night on the town. From delicious fresh popcorn to the living room vibe everyone will surely have a blast at this hidden gem.

PROS: Great craft beer and wine selection, not to pricey

CONS: Sometimes filled with the Howard crowd, but normally they move on when they realize, there are no Jager bombs and the bud light isn’t on draft for a nickle.

3) Saint Pete Shuffle - 559 Mirror Lake Drive North St Petersburg, FL 33701

Don’t you wish that you could step back into the 1950’s when shuffle board was at its peak of popularity and you could watch the greats compete in head on head competition for the world title. Well every Friday you can do just that and for FREE.So grab your cues and discs and head over to the legendary St. Pete Shuffle courts and yes it’s BYOB.

Pros:  FREE outdoor shuffle on Fridays, BYOB, addicting fun

Cons: Can get crowded, so get there early and no fans or A/C So make sure to bring tons of cold drinks.

4) Tiny Tap - 2105 West Morrison Avenue Tampa, FL 33606

Still awake and ready to drink? Well this after hours tavern will suit all your needs. CASH ONLY accepted and all the PBR and Busch light cans you can drink. This place is one the best dive bars in Tampa, boasting two foosball and pool tables. Also they have one of the most high tech jukeboxes I have seen to date, it’s literally a giant Ipad on steroids.

Pros: Open late and has games

Cons: Smoke, smoke, smoke.

So instead of going to your regular stomp and having another typical Friday, why not have a little adventure, stray  away from the herd and live a little. See you out there!

Cheers,

The Wild Cicerone
